• Over 17% of all Latinos in the U.S. have diabetes (1/3 of who remain undiagnosed).
• A Latino child born today has a 50% chance of developing diabetes in his/her lifetime.
• It is predicted that by the year 2050, one in three or four people will be of Latino/Hispanic origin.
Joslin’s Latino Diabetes Initiative’s (LDI) goal is to raise funds to expand its educational programs and community outreach activities that will help Latino families prevent and control the disease.
